Sawmill third grader Grayson V. reflected on his time at Wood Park Friday afternoon, returning to his former school to honor a place that has meant so much to him. Grayson and his mother Amanda presented principal Michelle Collison and special education staff with a certificate that dedicates a star in the school’s name.
“The Wood Park School Star” is located in the Orion constellation and is officially registered in the International Space Registry. Included with the certificate was a QR code so that could be digitally located by anyone who scans it.
Grayson and his family hope that the star serves as an inspiration for other students to be able to shoot for the stars just as he has.
Collison says that Wood Park plans to display the certificate and QR code in the front of the school for all students to see.
