Wood Park Students Learn Fire Safety
The Commack Fire Department continues to visit our primary schools, teaching students how to safely evacuate their homes if a smoke detector goes off.
On Friday, firefighters visited Wood Park Primary School, including Karin Gerges' first-grade class.
The students learned about staying low and crawling out as they depart during a fire and having a meeting place with family. They also learned about stop, drop and roll.
As a parting gift, the students received replica firefighter hats in pink and black colors.
